Job summary

Lubbock County is seeking an Administrative Assistant/Compliance Coordinator to support mediation and compliance activities. The role involves coordinating with participants, handling communications, and maintaining accurate records for court-related processes.

The position requires strong communication skills, organization, and the ability to multitask in a busy public environment. A valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Prefer college graduate or equivalent job related experience.
  • Prefer individual with law enforcement and/or probation experience.
  • Texas motor vehicle operator's license and automobile insurance are required.
  • Must not have been convicted of a Crime of Moral Turpitude.

Responsibilities

  • Contacts participants regarding options to bring into compliance.
  • Receives written and other communication and updates mediation files.
  • Updates database with compliance information gathered.
  • Types letters, reports, and other communications.
  • Attends meetings, court sessions, and training sessions, as needed.
  • Assists with responding to inquiries.
  • Completes annual mediator continuing education requirements.
  • Performs general office duties such as making copies, filing, and answering phones.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with proficiency and minimum supervision. Prefer college graduate or equivalent job related experience. Prefer individual with law enforcement and/or probation experience. Good communication skills, organization skills, ability to multi-task, ability to interact with the public, and ability to prioritize are required. Texas motor vehicle operator's license and automobile insurance are required. Must not have been convicted of a Crime of Moral Turpitude.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Prefer individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; outstanding grammar and vocabulary; knowledge of office procedures; ability to operate office equipment; proficient in a variety of computer software programs or have ability to become proficient with training; energetic, independent and self-motivated team player; follow oral and written instruction; maintain effective working relationships.
