Job summary

Kodiak Cakes, LLC is seeking a Temporary Accounts Receivable Analyst to support our AR team during peak demand. This role can be based at Kodiak HQ in Park City, Utah, or be remote.

The position offers an hourly wage with bonus eligibility and a benefits package beginning on day one. Responsibilities include posting payments, validating deductions, aging and reconciliations, and collaborating with Sales and Finance to ensure accurate, timely cash flow.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2–3 years of accounts receivable or related accounting support experience.
• Experience researching customer payment or billing discrepancies and communicating with customers/internal teams.
• Experience supporting recurring AR reporting, reconciliations, and month‑end close activities.

Responsibilities

• Process daily cash application activities by posting payments, credits, and adjustments.
• Research and resolve customer deductions by verifying pricing and supporting docs.
• Monitor accounts, follow up on outstanding balances, and assist with collections.
• Reconcile customer balances and investigate discrepancies.

• Maintain AR aging reports and assist with routine reporting.

Job Type: Temporary, Hourly - Non- Exempt | $30 - $34.50/hr
Job Location: Kodiak HQ in Park City, Utah, or remote

Individual base salary for this role will depend on several factors, including experience, job-related skills, relevant education or training, and certifications. The successful candidate's pay may fall anywhere within the stated range. Beyond base salary, we offer competitive health, dental, 401(k), and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment. This role is also eligible to participate in Kodiak's annual discretionary bonus program, which depends on individual and company performance.

Kodiak is looking for a Temporary Accounts Receivable Analyst to provide hands-on support to our Accounts Receivable team during a period of increased business demand. In this role, you'll help keep customer accounts accurate, cash flowing, and deductions moving toward timely resolution. Working closely with Sales, Commercial Finance, Customer Service, brokers, and customers, you'll help ensure our day-to-day AR operations continue to run smoothly while delivering a great customer experience.

What will you do?

• Process daily cash application activities by accurately posting customer payments, credits, and adjustments.
• Research, validate, and resolve customer deductions by comparing claims to approved pricing, promotions, trade agreements, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor assigned customer accounts, follow up on outstanding balances, and assist with collections activities.
• Reconcile customer account balances and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate receivable records.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Commercial Finance, brokers, and customers to resolve pricing, payment, and deduction issues.
• Maintain accounts receivable aging reports and assist with routine reporting and reconciliation activities.
• Support month-end close by completing assigned reconciliations and documentation.
• Help maintain organized customer account records while following established internal controls and accounting procedures.

You bring the following capabilities to the role:

• You handle recurring accounts receivable transactions accurately, including payment posting, account updates, and routine reconciliations.
• You stay organized while managing account follow-up, aging items, customer questions, and deadlines.
• You communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal partners to resolve billing and payment issues.
• You investigate discrepancies carefully, use supporting records to understand what happened, and know when to elevate an issue.
• You leverage Excel and financial systems with confidence, using data to support accurate account maintenance, reporting, and informed decision-making.

Your experience should clearly demonstrate:

• Approximately 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related accounting support role, with hands-on work in at least several of the following: cash application, collections, customer account maintenance, reconciliations, invoice research, or aging follow-up.
• Experience researching customer payment or billing discrepancies and communicating with customers or internal teams to move issues toward resolution.
• Experience supporting recurring AR reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities; familiarity with deductions or claims is helpful but not required.
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using an ERP or accounting system. Consumer products or CPG experience and familiarity with NetSuite are preferred; trade-promotion systems and Power BI are a plus.
• An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
