Job summary

Florida International University’s Center for Academic Success (CfAS) seeks a Temporary Tutor to support students through individual, small group, and online tutoring sessions.

You will review topics, assist with homework and test prep, provide constructive feedback, and participate in tutor trainings, with work schedule varying and pay between $15 and $20 per hour. This role contributes to student success within a large urban university system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in subject areas or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Criminal Background Check

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual, small group, and/or online tutoring sessions.
• Reviews classroom or curricula topics and assignments. Assists students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks.
• Works with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
• Provides students positive and constructive feedback.
• Participate in tutor training sessions/meetings.
• Support projects appropriate to the department functions.
