Overview

Summary: This is a growth opportunity to join the Layne’s brand at the ground level. The General Manager will maintain the restaurant in accordance with company‑approved operating procedures and within the approved budget. They will build excellent relationships with employees, owners, and guests, promote the professional growth of the team, and provide strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule, train, manage, and develop staff; oversee orientation, monitor and develop associates’ performance; communicate with leadership on hiring decisions and HR issues.
• Manage the restaurant budget, conduct cash and safe audits, and monitor sales and cost trends to maximize financial performance.
• Maintain an immaculately clean restaurant and report maintenance, repair, or service issues to leadership promptly.
• Represent Layne’s in all interactions, align with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values, and engage the local community to enhance visibility.
• Continuously seek ways to improve the customer experience and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, scheduling, hiring, training, inventory ordering, and workstation inspections.
• Participate in employee meetings and training programs.
• Maintain food cost while ensuring quality standards and manage purchasing and inventory controls.
• Apply HACCP controls and proper food storage/use; conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs.
• Handle sudden situations—staff or customer complaints, inventory shortages, staff shortages, or emergencies—with composure and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree in hospitality, management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of fast‑food drive‑through supervisory experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adaptable to new systems.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and perform other physical tasks such as kneeling, bending, or ascending stairs.
