Chicago Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Far South Side location at 10015 South Leavitt Street (Elizabeth H Sutherland School). You will be responsible for instruction, progress, and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, implementing instructional methods, assessing progress, maintaining records, and communicating with parents. CPS supports professional development and a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of student teaching and coursework for Illinois teaching certificate.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS).
• Knowledge of state standards and effective teaching methods.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet individual student needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and maintain accurate pupil progress records.
• Apply contemporary teaching methods aligned with curriculum.
• Maintain classroom discipline per CPS Uniform Discipline Code.
• Collaborate with parents, administrators, and staff.
