Georgia State University seeks a Student Financial Aid Counselor (Temp) to guide students and families through the financial aid process on the Atlanta Campus. You will explain funding options, eligibility, and how various aid packages affect cost and aid eligibility.

You will support awarding and verification, respond to inquiries via Salesforce, review SAP appeals, monitor awards, and ensure compliance with FERPA while maintaining confidentiality and timely service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and one year of financial aid or counseling or student personnel experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide Counseling and Advice: Meet with students and families to explain the financial aid process, eligibility, and impact of aid packages.
• Awarding and Verification Support: Resolve awarding issues and assist with verification and recalculation under guidelines.
• Student Communication: Respond to inquiries via the Salesforce ticketing system.
• Appeal Reviews: Review and determine SAP appeal applications.
• Reporting and Data Review: Review ad-hoc reports and resolve issues.
• Award Monitoring and Adjustment: Monitor accounts and adjust awards as eligibility or rules change.
• Policy Compliance and Process Improvement: Stay updated on policies and improve office processes.
