Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification requires a valid TASN (NCLB) paraprofessional license from the ISBE, obtainable after 60 college credits or passing a paraprofessional exam.
• Knowledge of students with various disabilities and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• CPR training is highly desirable and may be required later.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities and reinforce learning per IEPs.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene support as needed.
• Assist with daily living skills and positioning for non-ambulatory students.
• Accompany students to therapies, swimming pools, clinics, and field trips.
