Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks a Long-Term Substitute Preschool Special Education Teacher in the Student Services division to provide individualized instruction and support to young children with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities include implementing IEPs, applying ABA strategies, collaborating with families and staff, and monitoring progress in a safe classroom.

The role is temporary through February 2027, with a 7.5-hour day schedule and a 194-day first year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education required, Master's degree strongly preferred.
• PDE Instructional Certificate in Special Education required.
• Clearances: FBI, state and child abuse within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Participate in PDE training related to techniques for students with multiple needs.
• Provide guided practice to staff on classroom techniques and Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Provide training to parents and community stakeholders on ABA and Verbal Behavior.
• Deliver intensive instruction in individual and group lessons.
• Develop IEPs and plan curricula based on evaluations such as VB-MAPP and Batelle-3rd Edition.
• Monitor student progress and maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment.
• Function as case manager on IEP team and document progress and records.
