Job summary

Serene Lake Elementary in Edmonds, WA, seeks a paraeducator for a 4.25-hour daily temporary position supporting a 5th-grade class of about 30 students. Responsibilities include small-group instruction, classroom prep, and direct student support during resource time.

The role requires assisting with safety, behavior, and supervision before and after school tasks. Starting immediately, with potential overload review month-to-month; position may be reassigned based on program needs.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (or higher).
• Possess an associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher.
• Complete an apprenticeship as paraeducator or pass PESB-approved assessments.
• May be required to complete behavior modification programs including safety techniques.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in various settings to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect data, update records, and monitor student progress.
• Assist with behavior management and progressive instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Provide clerical classroom assistance and prepare materials.
• Assist with transportation, cafeteria, recess, bus routines, and crossing guard duties.
