Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Medical Records Clerk for a temporary position. You will process record requests, ensure HIPAA compliance, and handle confidential information with care using EHR systems such as Aprima.

Responsibilities include printing, scanning, faxing, mailing records, logging requests, balancing payments, and delivering professional service by phone, email, or fax. Starting pay is $14–$15 per hour with weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Extensive EHR experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
• Strong computer and data-entry skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Previous medical records or healthcare office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process certified medical record requests and subpoenas for attorneys.
• Handle patient, physician office, attorney, insurance, and workers’ compensation requests.
• Review authorizations and log requests accurately.
• Work within EHR systems, including Aprima.
• Print, scan, fax, and mail medical records and documentation.
• Process pre-payments, invoices, charges, and payments.
• Log incoming mail, requests, and invoices.
• Ensure patient charts and documents are properly scanned and uploaded.
• Enter new and updated HIPAA authorizations into patient accounts.
• Fax invoices, reports, and records as requested.
• Run reports and balance batches of posted payments and charges.
• Provide prompt and professional customer service by phone, email, fax, and other communication methods.
