Heritage Bank seeks a Temporary Internal Auditor to support the Internal Audit team at the Southern Operations Center in Tacoma, with consideration for Olympia, WA or Portland, OR based on skills. The role runs a 90-day assignment, mon-fri 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with hourly pay of $40–$50, and includes 401(k) match, sick time, and Employee Assistance Program.

Preferred candidates have 5+ years in public accounting or publicly traded company audits, exposure to SOX, and a Bachelor’s degree in business,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent experience in public accounting and/or publicly traded company audits with SOX exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• Ability to lead audit activities and communicate findings clearly.

Responsabilités

• Perform operational/financial/compliance audits, define objectives and scope.
• Document testing results, prepare audit reports, and present findings to management.
• Monitor SOX 404 internal controls and follow up on audit findings.
• Maintain knowledge of accounting principles, controls, and regulatory requirements.
