Job summary

Heritage Bank seeks an Internal Auditor for a 90‑day temporary assignment at the Southern Operations Center in Tacoma, WA. Primary duties include evaluating operational, financial and compliance controls and delivering timely audit reports.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in public or internal audit, SOX experience, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance. Banking knowledge and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in public accounting or auditing with SOX experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Banking/financial services industry experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with management and teams.

Responsibilities

• Define audit scope and objectives and perform control reviews.
• Perform audit testing and document results in the audit program.
• Present findings to management and Audit Committee.
• Monitor and test SOX 404 internal controls over financial reporting.
• Follow up on audit findings and regulatory requirements.
