Job summary

UPS is hiring a Temporary Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanic to perform maintenance at a package handling facility. The role supports 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation. Candidates must have a strong electrical background and pass an electrical assessment.

Responsibilities include electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, replacement of components, welding, and preventive maintenance on conveyors and related equipment. Union terms may apply where relevant.

Qualifications

• Must have strong electrical background and be able to pass electrical assessment.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Welding of structural components and equipment as required by scope of work.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment and controls.
• Inspect, repair, and/or replace motors, belts, bearings, and conveyor components.
• Inspect and service pneumatic equipment such as diverters, hoses, and coils.
• Inspect and service hydraulic equipment including hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
• Welding of handrails, conveyor supports, and related structures.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment and conveyors.
