Job summary

Carolina Cat is seeking a skilled technician to prep and maintain a rental fleet of generators, air compressors, load banks and related equipment. The role combines field service and shop work, including installing, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel generators and accessory systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with Caterpillar or similar power systems, and can read schematics, manage maintenance, and document work clearly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years with Caterpillar or comparable power generation systems.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to read schematics and diagnose electrical/mechanical issues.
• Clear communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot generator sets and related equipment in field and shop environments.
• Install and commission new units and perform repairs.
• Repair engines, generators, and components to operating condition.
• Document all work clearly and timely.
• Safely operate a service forklift and assist with loading/unloading equipment.
