Job summary

Carolina Cat is seeking an experienced technician to troubleshoot, repair, and service construction equipment. The role will primarily operate at customer job sites while also performing shop tasks, with a focus on reconditioning and testing components.

Candidates should have a minimum of five years in a similar role, Cat equipment experience preferred, and must provide their own tools and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Caterpillar equipment experience strongly preferred.
• Must provide own tools.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read, write and understand technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, remove, install, replace, rebuild, repair, and test parts/equipment on construction equipment.
• Work primarily at customer job sites, with shop duties.
• Inspect machines on rent in accordance with procedures and document paperwork.
• Disassemble/assemble parts, clean with solvents and power tools, and perform diagnostics.
• Move equipment using hoists, forklifts, and related aids; assist with parts handling.
• Collaborate with Rental Coordinators to provide fast, efficient service.
• Remove/install attachments and verify operation per customer requests.
• Operate cleaning and painting equipment as needed; reference parts and records in systems.

Education

High school diploma/certificate or equivalent

Minimum of five years of experience in a similar position

Caterpillar rental equipment experience preferred

Valid driver’s license
