Job summary

Travis County’s Economic Development and Strategic Investments is seeking three temporary Community Engagement Specialists to assist with two neighborhood socioeconomic surveys in western Travis County. Positions will pair with permanent staff to conduct the survey using door-to-door, public meetings, and/or telephone outreach.

Flexible hours through late October to mid-December, including nights and weekends, with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience in community engagement/public affairs/outreach or equivalent.
• Ability to develop and implement community engagement strategies and analyze qualitative/quantitative data.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and to travel within Travis County.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support community involvement in County governance.
• Develop and execute community engagement strategies for County projects and initiatives.
• Prepare presentations for community groups, officials, and stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships with disproportionately impacted communities and local partners.
• Assist with two neighborhood surveys using multiple modalities (door-to-door, meetings, calls).
