Job summary

Nova Southwestern University is seeking a full-time dispatcher to support Facilities and Campus Support by promptly handling emergencies and service requests. You will manage work orders, coordinate with vendors, and ensure timely, accurate processing with strong customer service.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of dispatcher or related experience, proficiency in MS Excel/Word/Outlook, and the ability to work calmly under pressure in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

  • 10 Key or numeric data entry skills.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of transactions.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational support to FAC and Campus Support departments by responding promptly to emergencies and urgent service requests, ensuring work is initiated and completed efficiently.
  • Reviews and closes completed work orders to verify contracted and in-house services have been delivered and customer needs addressed.
  • Serves as a communication liaison between customers and FAC staff by relaying information via phone, email, and other channels to facilitate timely work orders.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service by interacting with customers to gather, verify, and clarify information for accurate processing and completion of work orders.
  • Maintains regular on-site attendance to support daily operations and customer service needs.
  • Distributes work orders to external vendors for service delivery and processing.
  • Receives completed work order documentation from external vendors, verifies completion, and updates or closes work orders in the system.
  • Participates in job-related meetings, training sessions, and other activities, in person or via Zoom.
  • Coordinates with NSU building managers and technicians to understand operational issues and maintain satisfaction.
  • Schedules Passenger Vans and Executive Vehicles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Primary Purpose:

Supports the efficient operation of the University by ensuring the timely and accurate processing of work orders through the work order management system. This position serves as a critical link in maintaining daily operational continuity by providing reliable information and coordinating service requests necessary for the effective delivery of facilities and operational services.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participates in job-related meetings, training sessions, and other business activities, either in person or through virtual platforms such as Zoom.
  • Coordinates with NSU building managers and technicians to ensure a clear understanding of operational issues, support effective problem resolution and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Schedules Passenger Vans and Executive Vehicles.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Note: This is a full-time position that requires working from the office
