Job summary

Logan Simpson is seeking a Temporary Archaeological Field Technician to support survey projects around Reno, Nevada, with potential work across Nevada and neighboring states. The role reports to our Salt Lake City office and involves field surveys and data collection.

Ideal candidates have experience or education in the Great Basin or Southwest, can walk long distances on rugged terrain, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience or education in the Great Basin or Southwest.
• Ability to identify archaeological artifacts and features.
• Willingness to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in remote locations.
• Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day on steep terrain.
• Field sessions may last up to 8 days in a row.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Participating in pedestrian archaeological surveys as a crew member, under the supervision of a field director or crew lead, throughout the Great Basin and/or the Southwest.
