Job summary

Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a Temporary Archaeological Field Technician in Arizona, based out of our Flagstaff office, with work across Arizona and adjacent states.

The position is hourly, $22–$26, with benefits for temporary staff and a $150 field gear stipend. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Anthropology or Archaeology or field school, Southwest field experience, ability to hike up to 10 miles daily, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology or completion of accredited field school.
• Experience in the U.S. Southwest.
• Experience conducting fieldwork in a cultural resource management setting; ability to identify artifacts and features.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and remote locations (camping possible).
• Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day on steep terrain.
• Willingness to work overnight and on weekends; willing to work out-of-town.
• Proficiency with electronic devices for digital data collection.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Participating in archaeological excavation, monitoring, and pedestrian survey projects as a crew member, under the supervision of a field director or crew lead throughout Arizona and adjacent states.
