Job summary

Lam Research in California is seeking a Metrology Process Engineer/Microscopist to prepare TEM lamellae and image with 30 keV STEM detectors or 200 keV TEM imaging. You will operate Thermo Fisher Helios dual‑beam FIB tools, troubleshoot equipment, and protect sensitive customer IP.

You will work with process engineers to identify regions of interest, optimize processing, and document findings while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive team culture.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field with 2 years microscopy experience.
• Experience operating electron microscopes and/or dual-beam FIB tools.
• Experience with TEM sample preparation.
• Experience creating technical documentation.
• Knowledge of semiconductor devices and the industry.
• Experience handling and protecting sensitive customer intellectual property.

Responsibilities

• Prepare TEM lamellae using Thermo Fisher Helios dual-beam FIB tools for imaging with in-situ STEM detectors or TEM.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Maintain data integrity and proper handling of sensitive samples and IP.
• Collaborate with process engineers to locate regions of interest and optimize sample processing.
• Document learnings and provide training to teammates.
• Support a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
