Position Summary:

The Teller serves as the primary point of contact for customers and non-customers, providing outstanding customer service throughout each interaction. They perform various customer transactions daily, offer information, resolve issues, and seek opportunities to strengthen customer relationships by suggesting other bank products and services.

Hours:

Part-Time (20-25 hours), Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM or 12:30 PM – 6:15 PM (with one day off during the week), Saturdays 8:30 AM – 12:14 PM

Note:

To ensure employee engagement, retention, and continued top-level service, it is important to have well-trained employees at all levels. The 6-month position guideline helps set employees up for success. To apply for another position, employees must be in their current role/branch for at least 6 months. Exceptions can be discussed with a Customer Service Officer.

Essential Functions:

1. Accept and accurately process all financial transactions.
2. Maintain responsibility for cash drawer and follow proper balancing procedures.
3. Work on semi-routine assignments, recognizing deviations from accepted practices.
4. Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and concerns.
5. Cross-sell other bank services and refer customers to relevant departments to meet management goals.
6. Maintain knowledge of products, fees, policies, and stay current on offerings to make suggestions.
7. Ensure compliance with all bank regulations related to job responsibilities.
8. Adhere to bank policies, laws, and regulations; complete compliance training; follow internal controls.
9. Report compliance issues, violations, or legal concerns as per bank policies.
10. Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
2. High school diploma.
3. Cash handling experience preferred.
4. Accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Previous sales and customer service experience preferred.
6. Effective communication skills promoting Union Bank’s customer service philosophy.
7. Basic math and proficient computer skills.
8. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.

Working Environment:

Indoor work environment, not exposed to outdoor hazards. Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
