Job Overview
The Teller II (Float) is responsible for conducting transactions with speed, accuracy, and efficiency while meeting or exceeding service quality standards. The role involves safeguarding bank assets and promoting bank products and services through cross-selling. This position requires traveling to different branch locations as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and pay out cash, handle negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
- Set up, close, and balance teller station.
- Record sales of monetary instruments.
- Maintain a neat and well-stocked teller area.
- Cross-sell bank products and services.
- Follow established limits for protection of customer accounts and bank safety.
- Adhere to bank policies and procedures.
- Assist with balancing Vault, ATM, Night Drop, Coin Machine as assigned.
- Assist with scanning bank documents and proof work.
- Exercise judgment when applying holds and making check cashing decisions.
- Cross-train to open basic new consumer accounts.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule and a professional attitude and appearance.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, including lifting coin bags up to 50 lbs.
- Complete required BSA/AML and other compliance training.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements include:
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Effective communication with customers and colleagues.
- Basic math skills for handling money and measurements.
- Ability to follow multi-step instructions and handle standardized situations.

Software Skills
Basic proficiency in 10-Key, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing.
Working Conditions
Periodic exposure to noise, standing, walking, pushing, carrying, lifting; noise level usually moderate.
