Job summary

First Interstate Bank in Watertown, SD, Uptown branch is seeking a friendly Teller to handle daily teller transactions in lobby and drive-up, deliver outstanding client service, and build client relationships by recognizing referral opportunities for other bank products.

You will process deposits, loan payments, cash checks, and maintain accurate cash drawers while adhering to security procedures. Strong math, discretion with confidential information, and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a cash handling role preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process deposits and loan payments, cash checks, process savings withdrawals, record deposits, sell cashier’s checks, and redeem savings bonds.
• Answer client questions in person and by phone.
• Identify cross-sell and referral opportunities and direct clients to a banker.
• Record activities and referrals in 360View.
• Process currency transactions and complete cash drawer reconciliations.
• Follow security procedures and participate in dual-control functions.
• Maintain client confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information confidential.
• Assist in training sessions and support team members to accomplish results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
