Description
This position is responsible for accurately processing deposit account and loan transactions while adhering to all policies and procedures. The Teller will support the sales process by maintaining customer relationships through providing superior customer service and referring bank products and services when beneficial and appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively process customer transactions with a high level of integrity, accuracy, and knowledge.
- Support the sales process by identifying customer needs, promoting current promotional offers, and referring customers to Bankers and other lines of business (e.g., WIS and WMC) for further assistance with bank products and services.
- Maintain knowledge of WSB’s core processing system, products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements governing retail deposit accounts.
- Build and strengthen customer relationships by providing an unparalleled banking experience as outlined in WSB’s Mission.
- Answer customer questions and resolve related account issues, including via phone and in person.
- Stay informed about industry trends, standards, and external factors affecting the bank.
- Recommend reasonable changes to policies, procedures, and products.
- Operate in full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulations/laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience
- Required – 6 months of cash handling and/or customer service experience.
- Preferred – 2-4 years of cash handling and/or customer service experience.
Education
- Required – High School diploma or GED.
- Additional education and/or experience: Co-op participation; previous cash handling and retail experience.
