Role Description

The Teller role is a full-time or part-time, on-site position based in Gloversville, NY. The Teller is responsible for accurately processing member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and account inquiries, while following established policies and procedures. This role includes balancing a cash drawer daily, identifying and resolving basic account issues, and referring members to appropriate products and services that may meet their needs. The Teller will provide courteous, professional service, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to a positive branch environment. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with opening accounts, handling money orders and cashier’s checks, and supporting branch operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong cash-handling, basic math, and attention-to-detail skills to accurately process financial transactions and balance a cash drawer.
• Customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact effectively with members and deliver a positive branch experience.
• Computer literacy and ability to learn banking software, data entry, and basic office applications for transaction processing and record-keeping.
• Problem-solving, judgment, and adherence to policies to ensure security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in banking, credit unions, retail, or cash-handling roles is preferred.
• Reliability, integrity, and ability to work on-site full time in Gloversville, NY, including occasional flexible scheduling as business needs require.
• Willingness to learn credit union products and services and make appropriate referrals to support members’ financial goals.
