Connecticut Distributors is seeking a proactive Telesales Representative to manage a dedicated account base, promote CDI brands, and grow sales across current and underdeveloped accounts, including the e-commerce platform.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Ability to hold a DABCC Permit required.
  • Minimum one year in sales or industry related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contact accounts daily for order taking and promoting new items.
  • Create an established and efficient customer call schedule.
  • Analyze entire account base to determine specific needs.
  • Execute sales and merchandising objectives aligned with monthly priorities.
  • Prepare and present professional sales presentations to customers.
  • Understand pricing and product programming and keep records updated.
  • Coordinate with Marketing on e-commerce platform development and training.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings and communicate on high potential accounts.

Job Description

Telesales Rep responsible for a dedicated account base from which they will call upon to maximize supplier brands to the trade to evolve these accounts to a territory. This position will be responsible to liaise with retail and restaurant store owners/managers and is responsible for all management of the CDI portfolio and driving growth in their current account base as well as underdeveloped accounts. In addition, the position will be responsible for goals related to CDI’s e-commerce platform.

Essential Position Results
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Contacting accounts on a daily schedule which will consist of order taking and promoting new items.
  • Creating an established and efficient customer call schedule.
  • Analyzes entire account base by calling each account and determining the specific needs of the individual accounts.
  • Executes sales and merchandising objectives and understanding of monthly sales priorities.
  • Prepares and presents professional sales presentations (both over the phone/e-mail and in person) to customers by combining both the company’s priorities and customers’ needs.
  • Understands company pricing and product programming information on a monthly basis by maintaining accurate and up to date records.
  • Understands competitive pricing and product programming on a monthly basis by reading Beverage Media, Sevenfifty and other trade related publications.
  • Obtains appropriate distribution and of supplier brands throughout account base.
  • Pre-plans Friday initiatives by discussing accounts that may need more high end service.
  • Keeps current inventory and out of stock situations by communicating with management as to problem situations.
  • Collects payments online as well as conveying the account of other options, i.e. day of delivery.
  • Communicates with management on high potential accounts.
  • Attends weekly sales meetings by asking questions relative to current supplier activities.
  • Coordinates and or delivers all POS delivery to telesales accounts.
  • Partner with Marketing team on development of e-commerce platform.
  • Market and train customers on e-commerce platform benefits.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by assisting in special projects as needed.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • All other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certifications and /or licenses:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Ability to hold a DABCC Permit required.
Experience
  • A minimum of one year in sales or industry related experience is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
  • An understanding of wine and spirits is required. Individuals with strong accounting, computer, customer service and interpersonal expertise preferred.
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer systems.
  • Must be a results oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pays attention to detail and a positive attitude. Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly exposed normal business office environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The ability to share workspace, travel by car or train, dress in proper business attire, attend evening meetings and meet deadlines are all requirements of this position. Associate is often required to be in the market and may require exposure to inclement weather.
