SYSTEMTEC is seeking Avaya Telephony Engineer (2 positions) for a on-site opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will provide operational, advanced, and engineer-level support for an enterprise telephony and unified communications environment. The role will focus on maintaining reliable voice services, resolving complex technical issues, supporting telecommunications projects, and improving system performance and resiliency.
Required Qualifications of the Avaya Telephony Engineer (2 positions):

- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience administering Avaya on-premises PBX systems.
- 2+ years of experience supporting VoIP and unified communications platforms.
- 2+ years of experience with SIP, RTP, QoS, dial plans, call routing, and voice gateway technologies.
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting voice quality, call routing, carrier connectivity, and E911 services.
- 2+ years of experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure, including voice circuits, session border controllers, and PSTN integration.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to support complex telecommunications projects, system changes, testing, and technical escalations.
- Must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate to South Carolina before starting the assignment at the candidate's own expense.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Avaya Telephony Engineer (2 positions)
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud-based telephony solutions.
- Experience migrating from traditional on-premises telephony systems to cloud-based communication platforms.
Responsibilities of the Avaya Telephony Engineer (2 positions):
- Administer and support enterprise voice, voicemail, conferencing, IVR, call center, safety-device, and unified communications services, including adds, moves, changes, and disconnects.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical escalation support for voice quality, call routing, carrier connectivity, outages, and other telecommunications issues.
- Configure, maintain, test, and improve telephony infrastructure, including media gateways, telephones, routing configurations, voice circuits, and related equipment.
- Support telecommunications projects by researching solutions, implementing system enhancements, coordinating with vendors, and resolving circuit or service issues.
- Monitor enterprise telephony systems, maintain accurate technical documentation and system diagrams, and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, automation, and uptime.
- Maintain accurate E911 information and work collaboratively with technical teams, customers, and vendors while following established incident and change-management procedures.
