Job summary

Mercyhealth’s Telemetry Unit seeks a Unit Clerk Monitor Technician to continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, report abnormalities to the nursing team, and help coordinate daily unit operations for safe, efficient care.

The role requires attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, including nights on a 3,12-hour shifts per week schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of Unit Clerk course or equivalent on the job training
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient information to determine normal rhythm patterns and variances.
• Observe cardiac monitor screens for alarm variations and report abnormalities.
• Inform RN of variances and provide shift reports as requested.
• Complete documentation as required by standard.
• Measure rhythm parameters and post on patient records.
• Triages tele services and consults supervisor as needed.
• Process orders accurately and timely.
• Answer calls and relay messages to patients and staff.
