Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part Time Telemetry Technician for nights (7pm–7am), every other weekend, in Winfield, IL. You will monitor telemetry to support heart care and patient diagnosis.

Responsibilities include attaching leads, preparing skin, recording ECGs, watching multiple monitors, alerting on arrhythmias, forwarding results to the physician, and maintaining ECG equipment. Requires ECG interpretation coursework and CPR – Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework.
• CPR – Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Attaches electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on type of test ordered.
• Prepares skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
• Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintains ECG equipment and supplies.

Job Description

Part Time Nights, 7pm-7am withevery other weekend.

The Telemetry Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Performs telemetry monitoring to provide data for the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.
