Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Telemetry Technician for full-time night shifts. You will perform telemetry monitoring to provide data for diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions, attach lead lines, prepare skin for valid results, and document ECG readings as directed.

Responsibilities include continuous monitor surveillance, identifying arrhythmias or distress, correcting artifacts, and forwarding results to the attending physician.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework.
• CPR – Basic Life Support certification.

Performs telemetry monitoring to provide data for the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.

Responsibilities

• Attaches electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on type of test ordered.
• Prepares skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
• Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintains ECG equipment and supplies.
