Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Winfield, IL seeks a Part-Time Telemetry Technician for night shifts (7pm–7am) with every other weekend. The role monitors telemetry to support diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions, attaches leads, prepares skin, records ECG readings, and supervises multiple monitors while ensuring patient safety.

Requirements include a High School diploma, ECG interpretation coursework, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework.
• CPR - Basic Life Support certification.

• Attaches electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on type of test ordered.
• Prepares skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
• Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintains ECG equipment and supplies.
