Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Telemetry Monitor for the Monitor Room. This role involves continual cardiac monitoring and prompt communication of patterns to nurses and physicians.

You will also maintain telemetry equipment and inventory, document rhythm changes, and forward findings for clinical interpretation. Eligible positions offer PTO, parental leave, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Telemetry monitoring of cardiac patients on telemetry devices.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Job Description

Perform various activities regarding telemetry monitoring on patients requiring continual cardiac monitoring.

• Oversee and communicate cardiac patterns on telemetric devices.
• Maintain telemetry monitoring equipment and supply inventory.
• Document irregular rhythms and monitor changes in heartbeat.
• Forward changes to nurse and/or attending physician for analysis and interpretation.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
