Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Telemetry Engineer to design and build services that make telemetry data available and impactful across large-scale infrastructure. You will develop agents for multiple platforms and build backend services for data processing, storage, and reporting.

The role focuses on packaging, deployment, and system optimization across devices and operating systems, with opportunities to work on high-availability systems and modern languages.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Experience programming in modern languages (Python, Ruby, Go, Java, C++, C#, Rust).
• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
• Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software services that operate reliably at scale.
• Write and maintain agents that run across multiple device platforms, including network devices, Linux-based clients, and robotics platforms.
• Handle packaging, deployment, permissions, configuration, and service lifecycle across diverse OS and devices.
• Build backend services that process, analyze, and distribute data and handle configuration, storage, and reporting.
• Debug problems across the full stack from OS and networking to backend services.
• Improve performance, reliability, and quality of the systems.
