Job summary

Amazon in USA, VA, Arlington seeks a System Development Engineer II for Ops Tech Solutions Network Dev. You will design, build, and maintain scalable telemetry services and agents across diverse hardware platforms, enabling proactive detection and diagnosis of infrastructure issues.

You will also develop backend services to analyze data, manage configurations, and ensure reliable operation across Linux-based clients, network devices, and robotics platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Proficient in at least one modern language (Python, Ruby, Go, Java, C++, C#, Rust).
• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
• Experience in networking, storage, OS and hands-on systems engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software services operating reliably at scale.
• Write and maintain agents across device platforms (network devices, Linux clients, robotics).
• Handle packaging, deployment, permissions, configuration, and service lifecycle across OSs and devices.
• Build backend services to process, analyze, and distribute data and handle configuration/storage/reporting.
• Debug issues across full stack from OS/networking to backend services.
• Improve performance, reliability, and quality of team-owned systems.
