Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Registered Nurse to provide safe, direct patient care in the Telemetry unit. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care, and guiding patient/family teaching while coordinating with the physician on changes in condition.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, BLS and ACLS, with preferred Acute Care and Ventilator management experience, and may have RN-BC or BSN qualifications.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients.
