Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Telemetry Unit to deliver safe patient care using the nursing process. The role includes guiding patient family education and supervising other nursing staff while upholding high standards of care.

The position requires active RN licensure in Illinois, BLS and ACLS within stated timelines, and preference for Acute Care experience and ventilator management skills.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate on hire and maintain.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• RN-BC or similar certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining Telemetry Unit standards.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physician, including cardiac monitoring results and symptoms; respond quickly to changes in condition.
