Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV seeks a Registered Nurse for a per diem role on the Medical/Telemetry Unit with night shifts. You will provide safe, compassionate care and support patient-centered practices on an acute care floor.

Requirements include graduation from an NLN-approved RN program, Nevada RN license, BLS, ACLS, and 1 year FT or 3 years PT acute care experience. Join a team focused on quality care and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Current ACLS certificate.
• Must have one year full time or three years part time experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
• Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill; integrates direct and indirect patient care activities related to diagnosis and co-morbidities.
• Coordinates the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients; develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans meeting patient/family needs.
• Performs hourly rounds to strengthen nurse communication, safety, and anticipate patient needs.
• Collaborates with the patient’s care partner to meet educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
• Follows SBAR communication to minimize risks during handoffs and transitions.

Education

Graduate of an accredited RN program

Current Nevada nursing license

Current BLS certificate

Current ACLS certificate

1 year full-time or 3 years part-time experience in an acute care setting
