Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System's Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is hiring a per diem Registered Nurse for the Medical/Telemetry Unit night shift. This role focuses on delivering safe, compassionate care in a busy acute care environment.

The RN will collaborate with the care team, perform assessments, develop and execute plans of care, perform hourly rounds, and communicate effectively during handoffs using SBAR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Current ACLS certificate.
• Must have one year full-time or three years part-time experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care in the medical/telemetry unit.
• Construct and implement the plan of care with nursing knowledge and skills.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and establish goals and discharge plans.
• Perform hourly rounds to improve safety and communication, and proactively assess environment for patient safety.
• Collaborate with the patient and family, ensuring education and support throughout care.
