Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for Telemetry in-house registry nights in Illinois. An option exists to pick up a minimum of 4 shifts in a 6-week period or 10 shifts in 6 weeks.

The RN delivers high-quality, evidence-based nursing care and coordinates with the care team to meet patient needs. Night shifts require leadership, adherence to standards, and active participation in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of employment.
• Current certification appropriate to work area.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments for assigned patients, reflecting age-specific needs and variables.
• Educates patients and families about needs, learning preferences, and readiness to learn.
• Anticipates potential problems related to disease, discharge needs, and family support.
• Develops and updates the nursing plan of care with input from the interdisciplinary team and family.
• Coordinates communication with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding patient status.
• Monitors patient response to treatment and adjusts nursing interventions as needed.
• Participates in discharge planning from admission and documents teaching and referrals.
