Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC in Glendale, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse for 5 South Telemetry on a full-time 12-hour night shift (union). The RN supports patient care through the nursing process, ensuring safety, recovery and comfort while coordinating with the care team and adhering to CMS, Title 22, CDPH, and DNV-GL/NIAHO standards.

The role includes leadership tasks, quality improvement involvement, precepting new hires, teaching nursing students, and coordinating with LVNs and CNAs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from Registered Nurse Program
• BSN preferred
• 1 year clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Cardiac Cath Lab/IR experience preferred for related units
• California Registered Nurse License required
• BLS, ACLS; PALS certifications required where applicable

Responsibilities

• Assist charge nurse with planning delivery of patient care for the shift
• Contributes to overall unit planning and improvement
• Precepting and competency validating new hires and procedures
• Teaching nursing students
• Delegating to other RNs, LVNs, CNAs as indicated
• Coordinating assigned team
• Communicating expectations and opportunities for improvement to staff
