Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System seeks an RN 2 to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for a population-specific patient group within the department/unit. The nurse applies life-span knowledge, performs clinical judgments, collaborates with the health care team, and adheres to standards and protocols.

The role reports to the Director or Nurse Manager, may supervise licensed nursing assistants, and participates in precepting new staff.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• New Hampshire RN license.
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Bases nursing actions by applying principles of purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgment/decisions.
• Gathers data through history taking and physical assessment and interprets data to plan and implement interventions.
• Develops and revises patient plans of care and nursing actions.
• Documents care provided and patient progress toward outcomes.
• Directs and supervises others in delegated nursing activities.
• Teaches patients and families about the plan of care and prepares patients to manage care after discharge.
• Manages time and resources to deliver patient care.
• Administers medications to patients.
• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads the health care team.
• Serves as a Resource Person for assigned shift.
• Serves as a preceptor for new employees.
• Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
