Job summary

University of Southern California (Keck Medicine) seeks a clinically competent registered nurse for pediatric/medical-surgical care at Arcadia Hospital. You will apply the nursing process from assessment through evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care for acutely ill patients, collaborating with the interprofessional team.

You will contribute to quality improvement activities and uphold USC’s standards, while supporting unity and a positive work environment across the unit.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
• California RN licensure (required)
• ACLS certification (required when appropriate)
• BLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• One-year acute care experience (preferred)
• Current RN experience in the specific service/department preferred
• Good computer skills (required)
• A current RN licensure in the State of California is required

Responsibilities

• Planning, directing, implementation, and evaluation of each patient
• Nursing care may be delegated to licensed or unlicensed staff within licensure limits
• Direct care provided by LVN, CNA, nursing student, and/or logistics technician
• Participate in Performance Improvement Program oriented to education and quality control
• Demonstrate IRAISE values in all patient care interactions
• Provide safe, therapeutic care to acutely ill patients with medical/surgical or maternal child health diagnoses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and nursing teams to achieve service goals
• Promote unity and positive working relationships
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager/Director/Clinical Lead RN
