• Education or Training
• One year above high school with courses related to the Nursing Assistant occupation
• English Language Proficiency: must be proficient in spoken and written English as per VA policy
• May qualify based on Grandfathering Provision as described in VA Qualification Standards
• GS-3 to GS-5 grade determinations and related experience requirements
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: provide range of patient/resident care and contribute to nurse care plan
• Preferred Experience: One year of Nursing Assistant experience
• Physical Requirements: heavy lifting, standing, walking, and other tasks as listed

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct patient/resident care and support nursing staff in preventive, acute, chronic, maintenance, and hospice care
• Observe and report patient status and refer deviations to supervisor promptly
• Use basic diagnostic/treatment equipment (e.g., bladder scan, glucose monitor)
• Assist with basic life support and respond to emergent situations
• Promote patient motivation, independence, and rehabilitation
• Assist or teach patients regarding treatment procedures
• Work under supervision while showing initiative and leadership within the nursing team
• Caring for patients in diverse settings (outpatient, inpatient, long-term, hospice) and ensure dignity and self-care
