• Knowledge - Skills and Abilities: provide a range of patient care and contribute to the nurse care plan.
• Observe patient status and report deviations to supervisor promptly.
• Use simple diagnostic and treatment equipment and supplies as directed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and health professionals.
• Preceptor role for new nursing assistants during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide and assist in oral hygiene and denture care.
• Change linen of beds and assist with bedpans and urinals.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers under supervision.
• Support quality improvement initiatives at unit level.
• Carry out teaching activities and reinforce patient education.
