Job summary
Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs in Johnson City, TN is seeking a Nursing Assistant Telemetry to join the nursing care team. The NA assists licensed staff in caring for patients across preventive to hospice stages and supports care plans under supervision.
Responsibilities include performing ADLs, monitoring glucose, observing patient status, and communicating changes to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship as required by VA policy.
- Completion of education/training related to Nursing Assistant.
- Ability to perform a range of nursing care and observe patient status.
- Demonstrated communication with patients and health professionals.
- Willingness to serve as a preceptor to new NAs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living and supportive care.
- Care for patients with acute to chronic conditions under supervision.
- Observe patients and report deviations to supervisor promptly.
- Use equipment like glucose monitors and suction devices as instructed.
- Participate in treatment planning meetings and maintain charts.
