Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant (PRN) for the 4G Telemetry Unit, a 20-bed post-op cardiac care unit focusing on CABG patients, CHF, and chest pain patients. Under RN direction, the CNA will perform direct patient care and support duties in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include hygiene, mobility, vital signs, delegated procedures (blood glucose, EKGs, venipuncture), admissions/transfers, and chart/physician order clerical tasks, while maintaining a safe, compassionate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first year nursing program with clinical rotation validation.
• Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding and positioning.
• Obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other data.
• Performs delegated clinical procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
• Assists with patient admissions, transfers, discharges and procedures.
• Performs clerical and unit coordination duties, including patient charts and physician orders.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and a safe patient care environment.
• Responds to patient needs and emergencies with compassionate care.
