Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a Part-Time Nursing Assistant for our 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit (First Shift). You will provide direct patient care, assist with hygiene, mobility, feeding, and positioning, and help ensure a compassionate, high-quality care environment.

Under the direction of an RN, you will obtain and document vital signs and intake/output, perform delegated tasks such as glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture, and assist with admissions, discharges,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or completion of first year nursing program with rotation validation.
• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification or successful completion of first year of nursing program with rotation validation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning.
• Obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other patient data.
• Performs delegated clinical procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
• Assists with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
• Performs clerical and unit coordination duties, including patient charts and physician orders.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and a safe patient care environment.
• Responds to patient needs and emergency situations while providing compassionate, respectful care.
