Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Telemetry department at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Shift Available: Nights

Employment Type: Part-Time

Hours: 7:00pm-7:00am (12-hour shifts)

Location: St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Recognize signs of abuse and report appropriately to social workers or Adult/Child Protective Services, familiar with EMTALA Regulations.
• Observe and direct patient lifts, mobilization, and participate in patient handling as needed.
• Attend and maintain mandatory training in safe patient handling, including proper use of lifting devices and techniques.
• Use professional judgment and clinical assessment to ensure safe patient handling per policies.
• Use two patient identifiers consistently when drawing labs, administering medications, and performing procedures; follow medication reconciliation policies.
• Avoid unacceptable abbreviations in documentation; perform read-back on telephone orders; monitor and validate physician orders within 24 hours.
• Ensure clinical alarms are set correctly and audible at all times.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Preferred: Previous acute care hospital experience, ventilator management, and RN-BC or similar certification.
• BSN preferred.
