Job summary

Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ is seeking an RN Charge Nurse to oversee a Telemetry unit during night shifts. The role focuses on supervising staff, coordinating patient care, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

You will lead care planning, collaborate with physicians and teams, monitor patient flow and bed management, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Active RN license and BLS (ACLS preferred).
• Experience coordinating care on a nursing unit.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and supports nursing and support staff, delegating tasks.
• Evaluates staff performance and provides coaching.
• Oversees assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Ensures effective communication among physicians, patients, families and departments.
• Monitors patient flow and bed assignments; optimizes resources.
• Leads unit emergencies and rounds; participates in quality initiatives.
