Job summary

Qualifications

• License/Certification: Current BLS required; proof of license(s) and certification(s) due at time of hire.
• Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred; proof due at time of hire.
• Experience: One-year hospital experience as Unit Assistant or graduate of secretarial/medical assisting program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Continual monitoring of telemetry patients and recognition of rhythm abnormalities.
• Notify RN immediately of lethal or potentially lethal dysrhythmias.
• Prepare telemetry unit, lead wires and electrodes; apply and document rhythm strips each shift.
• Orient new employees to telemetry monitor systems; participate in chart entries and discharges.
